Defense Acquisition University – South Region Acquisition Update

Defense Acquisition University-South Region is pleased to announce the return of its Acquisition Update and continuing learning series on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the DAU-South Region Campus in Research Park, Huntsville, Ala.

This year’s theme is “Acquisition at the Speed of Relevance – Giving the Warfighter a Decisive Edge”.

This year’s event is organized around a series of focused training seminars, targeted lectures, and special presentations from both Government and Industry Functional Acquisition Professionals, as well as DAU subject matter experts. Each session is focused on improving how we do business. To defeat a determined enemy, we need to improve our skills. Our country's future depends on us hiring the best, then empowering and developing them to their fullest.

General Registration Information

All Attendees are asked to register through this conference website. Walk-in registration will be available, but only for Sessions with available seating. WebEx will be available for select Sessions. Please be sure and indicate whether you will be attending in person or online via WebEx when registering.

Registration will close at COB on Wednesday, February 13th

Note: Registration may close earlier than February 13th for those Sessions reaching maximum capacity..

Acquisition Update Check In:
Upon arrival to DAU, enter through the main doors on the west side of the building. Stop at the registration check-in table in the Lobby to sign in and receive a guest badge. Attendees will be able to check in starting at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21st. After signing in, please proceed to your appropriate classroom. The first Sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m

 
Sessions:
Due to potential classroom seating constraints, we ask that you please attend the sessions for which you have registered. Attending a different session could cause another registered attendee to lose his or her seat.

Please bring with you a copy of your confirmation email which contains the list of your sessions. A building layout map will be available during check-in.

CLPs/CEUs:
All attendees will be recommended to receive 1.5 continuous learning points (CLPs) or 0.15 CEUs for each Session attended. In order to be eligible for your CLPs/CEUs and receive a participation certificate, you must complete the customer survey after the event . The survey will be open the day of the event and close on March 7th. Certificates will be sent out electronically the following week (Mar 11-15).

Dress Code:
Military personnel will wear the Uniform of the Day. Civilian attire will be business casual. Jeans, athletic attire, shorts, strapless tops, or flip flops are not appropriate.
